Middlethorpe Hall & Spa

Set in 20 acres of its own manicured gardens, National Trust’s Middlethorpe Hall & Spa is a William & Mary country house hotel situated only two and a half miles from the historic City of York.

Middlethorpe Hall was once occupied by the 18th century bluestocking and diarist, Lady Mary Wortley Montagu, who declared it a ‘very pretty place’.

Today the Hall offers guests a stay in a William and Mary house that has been lovingly restored. Guests can enjoy wandering around the 20 acres of garden and park land that surround the house – which features fragrant rose gardens and a ha’ha.

The interior has been elegantly decorated in the manner of the 18th Century and furnished with antiques and fine paintings – so it feels much more like a stay in a manor house than a 29 bedroom hotel.
