The Star Inn the City

Located in the Old Engine House on the edge of York’s Museum Gardens in a riverside setting close to the historic Lendal Bridge, The Star Inn The City has an enviable position, which we aim to match with the best produce God’s Own Country has to offer and genuine Yorkshire hospitality for the ‘whole package’.

Open daily from 8.30am (Sundays 9am) til late for breakfast, morning coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Vouchers available in denominations of £10, £20 and £50.

Imaginative seasonal cocktails developed by our in house mixologists with a little help from Restaurant Manager, Sam Wheatley, are a great way to get the party started, even if just a catch up with a friend or a phew-got-through-the-week celebration.

If wine is your beverage of choice, we have a well balanced and considered Wine List with many available by the glass or by the bottle. For something a little bit different we also have ‘Wine Flights’ allowing you to sample selected wines and take your tastebuds on a tour.

The beer drinkers can chose between our very popular Yorkshire brews, such as ‘Two Chefs’ or Yorkshire Lager from the Great Yorkshire Brewery in Cropton, or Black Sheep all the way from Masham. Other draught offerings include lighter continental ales and a Guest Beer.
